April 20th Note

  • April 20th Note
Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a blessed Easter.

    Calendar Notes
  • The Practice Track Meet is this Wednesday, at Cahalan Park. We will leave campus at 10:45 and return by 2:55. There will be no set time to eat lunch. Students should eat during their free time between events.
  • All students will be seeing Disney’s “Earth” this Thursday.
  • Career Day is Friday, April 24th. If you have not done so already, please return the form stating where your child is spending the day.
  • Pastor Bork will be hosting a special presentation on drugs and substance abuse on Friday, May 1st at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. A meal will also be served.
  • Friday, May 1st is halfway through the 4th Quarter already. Midterm Reports will be sent home at this time.
  • The WELS Track Meet in Sacramento is Monday, May 4th. Hotel rooms have been blocked off if you are interested in staying the night on Sunday.

    Classroom Notes
  • The spelling list for the week is Unit 29. There is no hymn for this Friday.
  • A note concerning a graduation meeting will be sent home today. My hope is to have at least one parent of each student attend. The main goal of the meeting is to get the parents together in order to plan the graduation party. The meeting will be Wednesday, April 29th at 7pm in the 8th grade classroom.
  • Please return the WELS Track Meet form along with the $6.00 fee by this Thursday, April 23rd.
  • Please remember the following items for the Practice Track Meet.
    A marked sack lunch
A water bottle with your child’s name on it
    Sunscreen
    Athletic clothing
  • Students will be allowed to purchase concessions (within reason) for the trip to see Disney’s “Earth.”
  • We will begin to study Paul’s missionary journeys in Christ Light this week.
  • In music class the students will begin learning about musical life during the Renaissance.
  • Paper football continues to fly through Fridays. Right now students are playing the 3rd/4th place game and the championship game.

    God’s blessings on your week,
    Mr. Fillner
