March 30 Note

  • March 30th Note
    Thank you to the parents who helped make the CLHS trip a success. From the sounds of it, the students had a good time. I hope that the adults that went were able to get some rest yesterday and maybe recover a bit.

    Calendar Notes
  • Girls in grades 7 and boys in grade 8 will be screened for scoliosis on Thursday, April 9th.
  • Good Friday is April 10th. Students will be singing in the 2:00 pm service.
  • Easter Vacation is April 13th-17th. There is no school.
  • The Practice Track Meet is Wednesday, April 22nd at Cahalan Park.
  • Students in grades 1-8 will see Disney’s new movie, “Earth” on April 23rd. Thank you for your timely return of the field trip forms.
  • Career Day is Friday, April 24th. There is no school for the 8th grade on this day.



    Classroom Notes
  • The spelling list for the week is Unit 27. The hymn for Friday is the song grades 6-8 sings in the Good Friday service, “What Grace Is This?”
  • This is your weekly Career Day reminder! Please return the form by Monday, April 6th. Thank you for making this an exciting opportunity for your child.
  • Students are continuing to go over the options for the various graduation items. We will set aside class time on Friday to see what they have come up with so far.
  • Wiffleball intramurals begins this week during recess.
  • Starting this week in PE, students will begin practicing for the track meet.
  • Report Cards will be sent home this week. Please take a moment to look them over and discuss them with your child. Please sign and return the envelope by Friday, April 10th. If you have any questions concerning them, please feel free to contact me.
  • The following is an encouragement that specifically addresses staying for worship when the children sing in that service.
  • Worship services are an important part of our school’s educational program, as was explained prior to enrollment. Worshipping is an outflow or response of faith, which we are nurturing through the school, therefore we strongly urge families to attend worship and stay for the whole service when the children come to sing. An additional problem occurs when people leave during the service as it is disruptive to worshippers and can also give the impression that worship is not important; we don’t want that message to be given to the children or other worshippers. Therefore, we ask that families take to heart the encouragement to stay for all of the worship service.
