January 5th Note
With the return back to work, the kids return to school, and the recovery from all of the food eaten over the Christmas season – it is easy to say that Christmas is over on the 26th. Even though the department stores have packed up Christmas, we celebrate his birth all year long. Tomorrow we celebrate the “Gentile Christmas.” Epiphany is the observance of the Wise Men adoring the infant Jesus.
Calendar Notes- Friday, January 16th marks the end of the 2nd Quarter. Report cards will be handed out the following week.
- Friday, January 16th is also a Teacher Collaboration Day. Classes will dismiss at noon.
- There is no school on Monday, January 19th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- The Science Fair is Friday, January 23rd.
Classroom Notes - The spelling list is Unit 16 for this week. The hymn for next Friday is hymn 82, st. 1-3, 5.
- If you have not returned the form for the CLHS trip please do so.
We are still in need of some students to signup for electives. Signup can be done online at http://www.apostlessj.org/web/class/electives.html. Electives will begin on Wednesday, January 21st. - Girl’s Basketball practices Tuesday and Thursday this week.
- Boy’s Basketball practices Monday and Tuesday, and plays at Hillbrook on Wednesday at 4:40.
