March 10th Note

  • March 10, 2008

    God’s Love in Action
This Lenten season we again receive the wonderful opportunity to see an amazing love in action. So often our love can be a love of just words or emotions. Thankfully God did not stop at just words, but acted through his own Son, Jesus. We especially see that love in action during the Lenten season, watching all that Jesus went through to claim us as his own.

    Calendar Notes
  • We will dismiss at noon this Friday, March 14th, for Collaboration. Homeroom services are available. There will be no Hot Lunch.
  • Thanks to the students who are willing to help out with Easter for Kids on Saturday, March 15th.
  • Friday, March 21st, marks the end of the 3rd Quarter.
  • The students will be going to a children’s Good Friday service at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 21st.
  • There will be no school March 24th to March 28th.
  • Don’t forget to be thinking of places for Career Day! Career Day is a little over a month away already. Don’t want April 18th to sneak up on you.

  • Classroom Notes
  • The spelling list for the week is Unit 24, a review. The hymn is “Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted,” number 127, st. 1-3.
  • Students will be deciding which style of trophy to purchase from winning Spirit Week in the next couple of days.
  • Last week we went over information concerning class verse, song, colors, flower, and speaker. This week we will begin deciding on just what those will be. Class speaker will be decided after we return from Easter break in order to allow 3rd Quarter grades to be accounted for the Valedictorian.
  • Last week the students had an entertaining, and interesting performance by Ken Bergmann. He was quite funny and very loud on his numerous percussion instruments. Some students were able to participate in performing a radio skit with him.
  • Don’t forget the many ways in which you can help support Apostles. Check the school website for the different opportunities.

    God’s blessings on your week,
    Mr. Fillner
